What is a single worded sentence? Explained with examples.

In English when a group of words that makes a complete sense is called a sentence. 

But a sentence must not a group of words to so that we can call it a sentence. A sentence can have only one word. 

 

Well the question is ,"does it make sense?"

"Yes".

Like this above answer(yes) makes a complete sense although it has a single word.

Let's see some single worded sentences :

Come, Look, ok, Stop, Certainly, Good! Bravo! Nice, Absolutely, Yes, No.

But these single worded forms are mostly used in Spoken English. And in case of written English these are used rarely.

Just like single sentence word there some words, you can call them verbless words.

Q - What is your name?

A - Rishav.

The above answer does not have a verb but it is enough to make sense. So, you can call it single worded as well as verbless sentence.
