Band vs Banned: meanings and examples

Band commonly used as a noun means a group of people.

Ex- My favorite band is releasing a new album.

Band can also be used as a verb. As a verb it means to unite or join together. 

Ex- We need to band together to solve this problem.

But banned is used as a verb. It means
prohibited or officially not allowed. It is the past form of the verb 'ban'.

Ex- That book was banned from the school library for many years.
