It is easy to get confused between these two words.
Ascent and Assent
Ascent with a 'c' means rising or upward movement.
Do you remember the math in your school said "write the digits in an ascending order ?"
Ex - The plane made a smooth ascent into the clouds.
But assent without 'c' refers to aggrement or approval.
Ex - The teacher gave his assent for the class to go outside.
